on the odd occasion when i press key fob to open the freelander then open the door the alarm red light flashes and makes a beeping noise . could it be telling me the fob needs a new battery . the beeping and light go off as soon as i put the key in the ignition and turn the car on .

I have a new battery en-route.

Do I need to do anything special or just quickly change the battery and all continues to work properly,
or is there some sequence I need to follow..??

Cheers..

Unlock the car with the fob. Fit the new fob battery then stand next to the car and press the lock button a few times. This will synchronize the fob and alarm again. The car should lock once it's synchronize. Job jobbed ;)

there is a thred on here somewhere to progaming a fob but remeber to leave the first one well away or you will have the problem again or even wrap the first one in metal foil to stop the signal getting to it I know mine will unlock the car from about 35 feet away

Just changed my battery.

Followed the above instruction.

It locked me in the car on about the 4th click......... It then also unlocked the car. The range has improved now.

I'm happy.
