If its the original radio to the vehicle, then Land Rover traceability should be able to help you . Normally just contact your local land rover dealer. It may also be listen in your book pack if you still have it for the vehicle.
You just need the numbers of the radio chassis.

Although not a Freelander owner, but a Disco 2 - I too had to disconnect my battery due to having to work on the red ECU plug. Anyway, I called my local Landrover dealer and gave them my VIN number. They emailed me the next day with the radio code - free of charge!!
