i tried the turning it upside down and didnt give enough..i also considered cutting bumper as mentioned erlia on, but no real nice way of doing it...

i have also been painting mine this week.... not as in depth as yours but my nice solid truck isnt as solid as thought, ive known about a few patches for a loooong time but now im being bothered to do it i wish i had done it all a while ago before it got as bad as it is

on the plus side im sure the grin on you face is about the same as mine when you finish abit and it looks all lovely makes it all worth doing

Me ell, this has been a LONG ASS DAY

just finishing up now, tidying tools away :)

Rear end looks beautiful, axle casing modified where necessary, everything painted, and brake hoses first fixed.

Need tidying but you get the idea:

Now bed.

Sam, I REALLY admire your work but, I think I'd cry after thinking about the abuse it's going to get when finished:hurt:

The abuse it will receive will make baby Jesus cry, but hey, at least it'll always be better than it was!

Just a constant task of refurbishing parts mate!

Done some more brake hose niceness:

Also got a bunch of new bolts for the rear axle/suspension:

Plenty more crying to do yet :p

A simply epic job Sam, just gutted this is the first year I wont be going to Donnington to see this in all its glory.

Well done fella

So did you move the T up from the axle to the chassis?

Did you mean to say 'why' ?

Urm, not entirely sure, just it was a bit awkward at the axle I guess, kinda easier having hoses to deal with on the axle than having hoses and fittings and stuff

It was more Dave's suggestion and I just went along with it :D

That was comming :)

not sure if it would have made much difference, but hey still looks like a nicer place for it.

Yeah not much in it really but if you were able to have a proper look at it you'd see that it's just that bit more flexible not having to have the restriction of a fixed bracket at the axle

And we were working on the basis that it might be better to keep the fittings out of the **** where possible?

Ahhhh I don't know! :p

love the attention to detail this disco gets. The axles are pure landy porn. I have literally just started drilling out spotwelds on mine so I can replace the front inner wings and rotten footwells this week. Its gonna be a long job with a lot of learning as I go along because I have only done a few practice welds so far...

rebuild thread to come.

Thanks mate.

Yeah the hardest part is the mental battle because it is so easy to ruin it all again BUT just gotta be thick skinned, hey it's only paint can easily be done again :)

It's a long hard battle (my front arches that I did as my first landy job around 4 years ago kinda need reworking cos I naively left some half rusted bits and they are now full rust!) but it pays dividends in the end as a very useable and easy to maintain vehicle in the long term

It's not necessary to porn your axles like I have but that's just cos I'm a bit too keen and shiny stuff when it shouldn't be shiny makes me happy :p

Look forward to reading your thread :)

Oh and had a bugger with a brake caliper tonight!

One of the brand new rear calipers will not bleed, the bleed nipple port is not connected to the inlet port, going to try to backwards flush it tomorrow but otherwise will need a replacement!!
