ok so I been having trouble with starting when warm so I sent to land rover after getting so confused what was wrong with it so they said it the no1 injector they recommend replacing all 4. now im gona do it or them my self so the question is do I go with there advice and go for all 4or is it ok to replace 1. also do you think I should go new or reconditioned also im on a very tight budget
ps I now its not cheap just looking for advice

Thax Dan

It's ok to replace one injector. But if one has failed then the others could be considered to be nearing end of life as well..........

But if you are able to replace injectors yourself.... And you are on a tight budget.

It's a no brainier as far as I am concerned.

I would recommend changing all 4. I will be soon. I won't do it myself. I know it will cost more. I'm looking to get genuine Bosch refurbished by them ones. Rather than get them refurbished by another company. Some on here have recommended Lynx, I think somewhere south west of London if memory serves me well.

im thinking ill change 1 first and then when get some more money ill change the rest but im prob have to get refurb and thanx will check out lynx thanx

changed my mind found cheap bosch refurb ones on ebay 99 each so bought them all also 12 month warranty thanx for advice and input guys really helped

Spry plenty of wd40 type stuff around the injectors for a week at least before you try and remove them as they are very likely stuck! Mine could not be moved but after a week of wd40 they popes out with no issue :)

Spacemonkey recommends cutting the seats and fitting new washers as well. There was a post in his thread on his vehicle a while back.

thanks for advice ill be doing it Saturday so will do wd40 every day starting now thanks I think it comes with washers so ill change them anyway thanks all

Have some fun reading through here- the injector saga is there too...

You're really going to enjoy getting the old ones out and cleaning up the injector holes. You really MUST clean the seats- the tool is only £15 or so. If not, they will leak and blowby again and gum up straight away and run rough and the world will end and a kitten will probably die somewhere.

removing the injectors for the first time can be tricky , when i replaced mine i had to sacrifice an injector to enable me to pull out the rest of them, there is a write up on here somewhere,

basically, you remove the injector top nut and drill it out, and then fit a length of threaded bar in the top of the nut, refit and rig up a cradle(4x2 length of wood with a hole drilled in it works ok ) and pull it out using the threaded bar, if you refit the injectors using some anti seize they will pull out by hand next time,

so finally did all for 4 injectors horrible job took the whole day and after put back together the car didn't want to start we had to bump start. so took it for a drive and now it judders under load. advice would appreciated thx Dan

hi,i may be a bit late with this reply ,I used lynx diesels to refurb my original injectors excellent service and cheaper than what you paid on ebay, when having telephone conversation with alan darby who runs lynx diesels he asked for code number on the injector as there are different ones fitted to the td4, auto, manual, year, have you checked the code numbers on your originals to the new ones, you can give alan a call at lynx hes very helpful, hope it may help with your problem.
