I'm contemplating selling my 2002 P38 2.5 diesel HSE Braemar. Our Discovery 2 needs more welding for its MOT so I'm thinking of replacing the rotten old chassis for a galvanised unit. Unfortunately I cannot afford to keep the Range Rover and do the work on Discovery plus seeing as the Discovery earns it's living and the Range Rover is a third car it reluctantly needs to go.
Anyway to the Range Rover, Registered March 2002 it one of the last and as its a Braemar it's one of only 25 special editions P38's, they did 15 diesels and 10 V8's.
It's based on a HSE spec but also has walnut tables on the rear of the front seats, a playstation in the boot and screens in the rear of the front head rests. This one (as was all of them) is Blenheim Silver with black leather.
All the usual refinements you would expect from one of these vehicles including the Harmon Kardon sound system, 18" Hurricane alloys, front and rear lamp guards.
She has just rolled over 100,000 miles. Full Service history with the last being completed by our local main agent in October of last year at 97,263.
Mot until November and tax until the end of July.
During the 18 months I have owned the vehicle I have had the following work completed,
4 x new air suspension bags,
4 x Boge shocks,
New discs and pads,
Gearbox oil cooler pipes replaced,
In tank fuel pump (whilst they had the tank down they replaced the brake pipes that run over the top of the rear axle).
New air flow meter,
New water pump,
New heavy duty battery,
Reconditioned the alternator,
New front and rear propshaft UJ's ,
New heated front windscreen,
New pollen filter,
New under the windscreen foam filter (between the wiper arms)

I have replaced the original Alpine head unit with a very nice Single slot CD head unit, I still have the original head unit and the autochanger is still in the boot (it all works I just wanted something I could plug the MP3 player into).
There are 2 keys for the vehicle one of which has just come back from being refurbished.
The viscous fan has been replaced with a Kenlowe unit,
There are no leaks, nasty noises, or warning lights.
The vehicle is located in North Cornwall

Dave.

Hopefully there should be a few pictures added. Looking for offers some where in the region of £6k.

Looks very nice I've always had a soft spot for p38's. have the headlights been replaced as they look like the pre 2000 facelift ones? I can't believe they didn't put fog lights on this model either.

yes they are the older style lights, with every thing else I have had to spend money on over the last 18 months the head lights have been the least of my problems. I have however bought a set I just need to fit them.
None of the diesel auto's had fog lights, there's a gearbox oil cooler in the way.

Dave

I'm under increased pressure from the chief of staff to sell the Range Rover, to be fair I can see her point of view, it's done less than 1000 miles in the last 6 months and it's a bloody expensive ornament.
The new/second hand post 1999 headlamps have been fitted along with the new Oil cooler pipes so that's all done.
I appreciate I am never going to get back anywhere near what I have spent on the vehicle but with the mileage and everything that has been done to it I'm Looking for offers in the region of £6,000.

regards

Dave

Looks nice but I reckon you will be pushed to get £6K for it, especially at this time of year, L322's go for not much more.
Good luck, hope you find a buyer.:)

Range Rover still for sale. It's just been in and MOT'd, only advisor was to replace one of the anti roll bar drop links, which I haven't done yet but will do at some point over the new year.
She's just had a full service buy my local independent and a new radiator and coolant hoses. So she's got 12 months MOT and taxed until end of February 2014. I got rid of the Discovery instead of having it fixed up but I still think it would be better to move my P38 on. Between MOT's she done just over 3,000 miles in the last year, 600 miles of that was in 1 trip last summer so she's just not getting used. At the moment the 18" Hurricanes are off and she has a set of 16" alloys with a good set of BFG all terrains fitted which I plan to leave on as winter tyres as the tyres fitted to the Hurricane's are more road biased. Anybody interested is more than welcome to come and have a look. There's a complete P38 for spares you can have as well if you want it.
Anybody wanting to come and take a look is more than welcome and a time suitable to both.
I'm open to sensible offers bearing in mind this a 2002 P38 DHSE with a genuine mileage backed up by a full service history and a massive amount of additional work under taking over the last 2 years of my ownership.

Looks very tempting, just a bit too rich for me:(
