My Landy is 110 hard top with no windows in the side. Visability is obviously quite restricted. The worst problem is the blind spots for lane changes and joining highways.

I've tried little blindspot mirrors but despite cleaning the mirrors really carefully with meths, they fell off as soon as it rained. Also, additional view through them was helpful but not that clear.

I've noticed these days, lots of small lorries and vans have those split mirror arragments. They look fantastic as they are a decent size and would give you a good view. Has anyone fitted them to a Landy?

Mudstuff have just started doing extra large wing mirrors for defenders, they look pretty good and aren't too badly priced either. Also there are blindspot windows you can get which fit into the hardtop just behind the seats. Can't remember the name of the company that makes them though, begins with an M. Anyway they're tinted and at a glance you probably wouldn't even notice them, they are a most expensive option though

Cheers for the info. Looks good but I really want split type ones so that I can have totally different fields of visionl.

I don't like the look of them - plus I have my FFR supports in that position.

Araldite will stick those little add on blind spot mirrors without falling off.

There's these clip on blind spot mirrors might be possible to mount them under the mirror on the support arm.

But yeah, there does seem a gap in the market for decent split view mirrors to fit the Defender vans, it can be a bit of a wing n a prayer joining speeding traffic to the left

My 110 dpcu has pretty bad rear visibility too due to having the exmoor hood. Granted, having the second row windows solves part of my blind spot but the standard mirrors are still crap for lane changes and reversing trailers. Have seen the extra large mirrors on sites but don't want I to look like its got two elephant ears on the side of it either lol.

I got the Blind spot windows and love them , i can now pull out in junctions without crossing myself for luck as you can not see from the left all that well without them . As for motor way driving it is much safer as i can now glance over my shoulder and see if a car is in my BLIND SPOT. Would i go back to not having them ? NEVER

For those that haven't realised it yet. Defender mirrors have two positions if you pull the arms towards you, they are set for everyday driving. If you push the arms forwards they are then set for towing and give a wider field of vision.

I found the best cure for ****e visibility was to replace the sides, with ones that had windows fitted. Mine cost a tenner off EBay.
