Alloy wheel problems

Tried fitting alloy wheels today to my 1998 90 defender and they wont go on the hub is to big and not enough room inside alloy, any ideas

How much are they and what ones do i need????

While spacers will solve this problem, many people report that they do load the wheel bearings a bit more.
If you have the option to get your money back, it might be better to wait until the right wheels come along.

Sorry to read this has gone wrong for you. I would sell them on to be honest the spacers are more money and not ideal.

Put a picture of them on here, only thing I could think is that you've got a set for a disco 2 with a smaller pcd or older style axles with drum brakes onthe rear, Freestyles should fit no problems

Someone might be able to correct me, Freestyle for discos and Tornado's are for defender ?

they look exactly the same, can only think that the tornados are deeper than the freestyes ?

those above are tornado's , i bought one from Rimmer bro not long ago to make up a set. and they fitted my 90 Def 1996 .

I have Disco Freestyles on my TD5. Went staight on with no issues.

Mac0972. I too am having a few probs regarding alloys (see thread on 'extended wheel arch advice'). I fitted expensive hub adaptors, but although they have allowed the alloys to fit fine, they have thrown the offset out by two inches, meaning they stick out beyond the arches. I contacted the manufacturer of the adaptors but they say they are the right ones, and that's it. You will either have to go down the same route as me, or find a wheel that fits without adaptors - be safe though! Mine ride great - no rubbing or floaty feel, it's just the Carlos Fandango bit that's annoying (if you're young you might have to ask your parents about that, or see here: Panama Cigars - Carlos Fandango Wheels - YouTube
