Hello people, just bought a set of alloys (freestyle i believe) for my 1998 90 300tdi defender and have also bought some used wheel nuts as i was told couldnt use the ones off my wolf rims. The question is do i need to fit wheel spacers or can i just bang them straight on and will a bit copper grease on the studs be ok, cheers,

I Believe they should fit fine as long as you dont intend to fit bigger tires,

got 265/75R16 on mine, but thery are on Tornado alloys, dont have any spaces on mine

Yes you will need the alloy style wheel nuts, the later hub on your 300tdi will allow them to fit and you should ALWAYS use copperslip on the studs and on the two mating surfaces of the wheel and hub - but be aware, as with using any form of lubrication a torque reduction factor should be used on any torque figures, the factor for copperslip is 0.80.

Tried fitting wheels today and they wont go on:( the hub is to big and not enough room inside alloy, any ideas

Are you sure ?

Freestyle look exactly the same as Tornado alloys !

As far as i'm aware there are only a few options on spacers, someone with more knowledge on the subject should be able to tell you !
