Still waiting for my car to sell so I can buy a D2 as a daily driver. But for now iv got about a grand. Anyone got anything proper cheap? Not really fussed what to be honest just needs to have MOT and ideally situated in North West. Although I would travel...

Missing having a second car for P&P and laning.

Try some of the Disco breaker yards - place in Swadlincote, Derbyshire sold me a Disco 1 with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax with body and suspension lift, Cooper STT tyres, etc. for £1000 - ok after a year I had to break it (or do lots of welding) but it more than paid for itself when breaking!

Unfortunately don't know of anything local. Sounds like you were lucky with yours, hope I get something half as good. Been trawling eBay for a few days but noting with more than a weeks MOT. There's a few cheap shoguns/pajero's but was hoping stick with LR.

Derek Allfrey has a green 300 TDi that belongs to a customer who has just bought a disco 3 - the steering box packed up so Derek put a secondhand one on, MOT'd it and is driving round in it himself at the moment - the customer has asked him to sell it.

It is no oil painting but a good solid car - you will need to come on the train

He wants 1000 for it but will probably take 900 if you are coming from Runcorn.

Dead easy by the way - Runcorn to Euston on Virgin, tube - victoria line - 4 stops to victoria than southampton central train to billingshurst- about 4 hours journey.
