What have you done to your Landie today.

Tried some baby talcum power on the noisy 300 tdi serpentine belt, very effective.

blanked my egr but i never fitted the plate like half wat down the pipe at a join left all the egr etc still on will it work like this??

Effective for one day, meh....

Changed my reverse light switch, finally fitted a lap belt to the centre seat, put one of the rear speakers into my door cards and tidied up the back a little

Changed uj, fitted wind deflectors, got the oil temp guage plumbed in. Dropped sump plug in bucket of oil

Enquired about some parts and got new exhaust gaskets

I have been having smoke issues with my Defender, I have been trying to fathom out what is causing the problem. The other day I left my very expensive camera on a picnic table with some strangers. I realised when I got home what I had done. I drove my Defender 54 kilometers on the motorway at 140 kph (86.9 mph)to retrieve my camera. I got my camera and seem to have sorted the smoking issue.

Stripped the handbrake off
Realised I've ordered the wrong oil seal for the transfer box
Wondered what the wedge-shaped bits are that fell off the handbrake

Ah yes, that might make sense - wedges behind the adjuster to match the wedges on the front side.

Fitted new front mud flap to my Defender 90. New flap, rivnuts, rivnut inserter, bolts, grinding wheel for angle grinder.............looked so simple (and cheap) before I started! Thanks for all the previous advice on here on the subject. Couldn't have done it without it! Now ready for when the next one tears off!

Fitted new steering damper to the Disco, as the old one was riddled with tin-worm ...

Took the near-side side step off as that appeared to have caught some worm anorl ....

Ordered 'im some shiny new bling bits - 4 rectangular spots for tha light bar I gived a fiver for back in August.

Blinking 34 nicka all told fer the 4 lights - not bad I s'pose, bar an lightage for just under 40 sheets!

I'm happy - SWMBO won't be, but fook it, its my landy an tha nights is drawing in - I needs to see where I is pointing the bugga

Put it on Axle stands and took the wheels off. Gonna do the wheel bearings, two watery outings without checking them is pushing it ..

Also got some HD steering bars to go on .. and a few other bits to tidy up, grind off, stick back on!!!

In perpetration of it going into my 110.

I've done all the welding now and body schutzed it all too



Just need to do the timing belt on the 200 Tdi, then the engine swap, cavity wax the inner chassis, rebuild the brakes and change the other side (to the done side lol) radius arm bushes and mot it....EASY!!! I hope.

Put fuel in, drove it round, changed tyres, filled it with ratchet straps for tomorrow and a securing chain……ready for towing the series home!

Got towed to a garage to get the gear box changed.
