Got into the Disco this morning to leave for work and nothing, no lights on the dash not even the clock was working. Having parked the car last night at 10pm really wasn't expecting any problems this morning at 6:45 , think the battery cells have collapsed.

So I've had to take her mothers TD4 Hippo so I could get to work. I hate the thing and want to put into a wall.

tis a Disco 2 TD5 first thing I did was check the fuses under the bonnet and everything is ok.

The battery is the one the Land Rover fitted on the production line so I can't complain to much about that, its driving the Hippo I'm more annoyed about.

Well my father in law has just confirmed for me that the battery is fubar, battery tester won't even register it's connected to a battery and it won't light up a brake light.
So off to Costco at lunch for a new battery.

it does happen motorcraft batteries are the worst they can be fine one minute and a hour later totally dead seen it quite a few times

Scotty,

The Motorcraft original battery in my Ford Ranger '89 lasted for 9 years. Replaced with another Motorcraft which was still going strong when I retired
the truck 8 years later due to salt corrosion. 17 years on 2 batteries ain't too bad.
