Shame I'm not still down the road from you in West Chiltington:) I could have helped out.
Is that Horsham Sainsbury's car park?

That would've been great :)

and no, close. it's the giant Tesco's @ Broadbridge Heath ( Horsham )

Just went down post office, despite the gov.uk website & v5 document claiming my road tax was £240 for 6 months, the nice man only charged me (and was adamant) that it was £154. so ker-ching on that!

Also booked the MOT for friday, i had a recent full check over by LR & it came back crystal clear (after some remedial work, ha) so i'm sure that'll be fine.

If this car doesn't fetch a great price, or at the very least a buyer that actually pays. it'll be a gross injustice. i think i might just outright sue the winning bidder if they fail, i've made it crystal clear what i'm offering / expect.

and frankly, an 02 vogue, with brand new (yes.. £1,200) tyres, 6 months road tax, full service history, 1 years MOT, a private plate worth a few bob, a full tank of fuel (that's the kinda guy i am) and only 100k on the clock with immaculate mechanics, half of which have been replaced. along with an immaculate interior (restored) and a great condition exterior (detailed) , is frankly a steal at any price. i don't care who you are or what you say. I've spent thousands making her run like new & not even for my own sake, nor to maintain any "Resale" value, but to make sure the next owner has not a single complaint with it.

I was so ocd about making sure that this would be a great car for the next owner from the beginning.

My last one was a massive crocker (accidents, the whole lot) and i swore to ant (saint.v8) that i wouldn't sell a RR in that state,

The chrome might put some off, but i didn't add it & didn't have a problem with it, i'm not one of these chavs that only cares about the inside. i totally trust this car.

Woah, detail overdose. i'll leave it at that for now :p

Does it have LPG :p

Quite a lot goes on pensions.
Really? The people currently coming up to or receiveing a state pension have contributed for 44 years, if any of that money had been invested instead of squandered by the politicians there would be no pension problem. It will be different in 20 years time when a large part of the population will reach rertirement age having lived their whole life on benefits.
The UK state pension is pathetically small, my French wife's state pension is more than double my UK state pension.
It's different if you work in the state sector or are a politician of course, no shortage of pension cash for them:mad:

Nearly half.

Politicians might do well out of it, but I think if we British were prepared to pay more tax, there'd be a better social security service for all. I don't have much experience of France, but when I lived in Holland I paid loads of tax (36% I think) even though I was earning a starting wage as a young 22 year old. Excellent dole and pension though. If I still lived there!

If you take all the different taxes, Britain is one of the most highly taxed nations in the world. The political answer to every problem in the last 50 years is to raise taxes, which they them promptly squander.
If you look at the benefits bill for immigrants alone, you can see where a lot of the money goes not to mention health tourism. In France there are no benefits if you are not in the system and have worked, even then dole (Chomage) is based on the length of time worked. When that stops it's RMI which in the case of one person I know was €5 a day to cover herself and her handicapped son. It certainly makes people get off their butt and look for work.

We pay far more tax than 36%. The dutch and Scandinavian systems are just more upfront and honest about how they tax you.

I'd agree with that. It's also the fairest way in my opinion.

A lot of money to you and me, but if the UK immigrant population is about 15% out of which about 2% might be illegal, the bill for their benefits is peanuts to an economy the size of ours, and almost insignificant compared to what we're spending on pensions. That assumes that all the immigrants aren't working, which probably most are.

Really sad to hear about your dog Handscomb, thats a biggy.

You've had a roller coaster time trying to sell, but at least wait to end of auction, the bidding sytem is weird and it may go ballistic yet......

Ah, i didn't realise you were quoting a fleabay waster, i thought it was YOUR dog, ffs....

Wait to end, its your duty to genuine bidders and it may jump up yet.

Unless you're ex-forces, in which case you get shafted at every turn. But when the UK pays around 75% tax, I've be happy if a few more pence were spent on pensions for everyone who has worked and paid stamp. Instead it seems to get thrown away. A GDP of 2.256t USD is no small figure (not far off of the French GDP). So how does the gov't manage to throw it all away? We have slightly less people in the UK than France, so punch for punch are near on equal. How does the UK mess up funding so badly compared to France?

Or is it quite grim for a fair few people in Franland just no one talks about it? Blacks living in poverty? Who cares, this is France. Poor people unable to afford medical treatment? Who cares, this is France.
