as im breaking my landy and building a trailor out the rear half im left with a little amount of twisted chassis 'what should ido with my v5 logbook vin tag mot and tax could i sell it on or is it ilegal ???

ok then best thing for me todo with it is burn the v5 n scrap front half of chassis
You need to send the V5 back to the DVLA telling them you have scrapped the vehicle. If you just burn the V5 then the vehicle still exists as far as the DVLA are concerned and they will want to know why its not insured or SORNed etc. If you read the V5 it tells you exactly what to do and where to send it.

Trying to sell, or actually selling, the V5 without the vehicle to go with it is a criminal offence which also makes it easier for some low life to ring a stolen vehicle and sell it on to somebody else.

How I do it is get a receipt from metal merchants and send photocopy with v5 and letter explaining. Scrapyards will whinge like a bitch-but dvla can't say much to a jigsaw puzzle

Selling an id is fine as long as it includes the bit of chassis with the number on and there is only one occurrence of the chassis number, in your case it would only be good to use with brand new chassis but unfortunately it's more likely to end up being used to re id a stolen car
