anyone who calls a Superb machine like the Freelander gay has got homophobic tendencies, probly linked to child abuse at an early age.

the same people secretly admire our vehicles from afar and know that they can never own such a beast cos they've dissed em so much.
I think you could be on to something there. Tratterers on ere have always had it in for Freelanders and their owners. They go out of their way to ridicule us for no reason. For many years they’ve told us to scrap our lovely Freelanders for no other reason than they hate them. But does they really?

Tratterers also hate the DC100 new tratter which is due to come out within 5 years. A continuation of the hatred they give Freelanders. But they also hate Range Rovers, Disco’s and the Evoque. So when yer thinks about it tratterers int got much of a future left. Their rusty biscuit tins are disappearing before their own eyes. Nature payback. So that will leave them tratterless. Then they be looking out for another vehicle to move over too. Not wanting to leave the green oval they be looking around to see what’s on offer… Lots of cheap Freelanders with loads of cheap parts available at their location of choice, the scrap yard. All those simple to fix Freelanders will be cheaply available for them to buy. But only if they continue to knock our Freelander to drive down the price. Especially the 1.8 petrol’s which are a significant improvement over their drafty oil burners. Tis true I tells ya.

Hear hear, if I'd bought a nice reliable doozle I'd still be handin' over hundreds of quid to the spanner monkey's at Kwak Fart every year. Now I can see why women are so attracted to bad boys that they think they can change.

Hippo, nice trim dude o_o! Purdy!

LOL!

I was a very proud owner of a 110", loved it to bits...no really to bits!
It ate:
2x rear props
2x front props
leaked oil from the transfer box constantly
had in 1 year 2 set of tyres
Rear door
Heater control lever and heater control cable
1x turbo breather
2x air filters
1 x radiator
one starter (that was fun)
Most days it would struggle to start on a few fail to start.
It was great loved every moment, right up until the head cracked.

My Freebie:
New clutch cylinders
Head Gasket
Tail gate window control switch
Tail gate regulator
Its good nice drive, smooth and unlike the truck it replaced it has started almost every day!

The whole tailgate seem to be the biggest pile of **** after the head gasket problem.
Tailgate was first tested on Disoc's sold to the Japanese market. So I blames the disco owners for not pointing it out as a potentual problem.

I know that having the electric window is neato but I'd prefer just to have a frame and spare myself all the arse.

Freelaner, you're absolutely right - the integrated antifreeze dispenser system is definitely second on the list.

Yer right about the dislike of other non tratters though. I mean where ya gonna put yer pig in a Range Rover

After owning my Hippo for the past 4 years, I was starting to miss the rear load space and began to have a butchers at Disco's again. I even had a few test drives of DiscoII's and there was where I made the mistake! I'd forgotten how sluggish they were!

I have a HSE Freelander 04 plate, replaced engine, recon autobox on 140k miles. Book price is apparently £3000! Now the same year Disco with less toys was in the region of £8 - 11,000 on forecourts.

My decision? Having thought about what I use it for and how much loadspace I really needed, I decided to spend a bit of money replacing the VCU and other worn parts and keep my nippy, comfy, warm, high spec 4x4 and enjoy lots more years in it.

Nuff said! :D

Amen to that, how many tratterers can honestly say they wouldn't mind a set of heated front pews to go with some working heaters in the middle of the winter when its minus whatever outside.

The following people to leave abuse of this comment be just liars who wear the missus's thermals to keep warm :D

Can honestly say I wouldn't want heated seats. (They can be fitted in tratters ;) ) But I really don't like them and my heater must be broken cause it gets very hot ;) :D :D

Heated mirors? What's the point of that then?
