hello i;m buying some insa turbo dakars, 265x75x16 and have steel wheels to put them on which i believe are 16x7. now i have been told to put them on 16x8, is this another way of blagging more money out of me or is there some reason behind it?

They will fit on a 7" rim but the tyre wall will be more ballooned than it should be, giving the risk of the tyre rolling more on a bend and the possibility to roll the tyre off the bead.

265mm = 10.4 Inches wide.

It would be safer on an 8" rim

If you're buying new, may I suggest a set of 16x8 Modulars with -35m offset to really finish it off it off nicely...
I think I paid £39.00 per wheel for my set, but I brought a set of 5 and got a good discount on the whole package. :)
