Has anyone actually got one of these recently? I ordered one from paddock spares today and they've just called me up saying it's on indefinite back order with Land Rover and unless it's for an emergency vehicle they wont supply one. :(

I start to get "tired" of this brand...
Start to understand, why so many people leave LR and don´t return...
Some of them with the car in warranty.

And I am not talking only about P38A....

I managed to find the latest version on eBay from P38-Parts. I checked the pic was of the actual item and they'd taken the cover off so I could compare it with the identification photo that's been posted here before. Should arrive tomorrow and was a lot less than £270!

Crikes! what a rip off.

I bought one from Island 4x4 about 2 years ago for £167, but you're right they don't do them anymore. What a pain.

A Land Rover isnt for everyone, you have to be dedicated, prepared and a little cuckoo to own them!

They will test your patience, your wallet and your relationships but there is nothing better, period!

Until your wife, pregnant, can not run the car, because the RF issue...

And like wammers sayed, some resistors, capacitores (that´s what make a RF filter) and ask 270£...
I know when the P38A was made, the frequency was not used...bla bla.

Like you say, we must be cuckoo, the own one;)

If you own a Range Rover, you always need to have another reliable car as back up.:(

Couldn't agree more. We've got a Golf GTI as a main car.

My wife is preganant and the other week the Golf had to go back to VW for some warranty work. I was a bit concerned only having the P38 available in case I had to do the dash to Hospital. It's never let me down but I know if it did, it would be in a situation like that!!

I have the Transit as back up but also have an MR2 and a Renault 11:)

Seems like several of us have pregnant wives. :)

My next child (cost centre 2) is due on November 22nd and our first is 13 months old.

The "other" car in my household is a BMW 330i Touring, which is actually proving to be one of the best cars I've ever had. Once the Range Rover has earnt my trust it can share long distance duty with the Beemer but it hasn't got there yet!
