Hi guys so I've got the gay lander at last! After a 5 hour drive from new market to Devon :( I was wondering if someone could show/tell me where to buy the EGR blanking bits? I've seen the £35 one on eBay but I don't wanna be buying any cheap ****.
Also, I'm surprised to find my hse doesn't have cruise control, can it be retro fitted? I would of asked land rover but I quickly decided not to when they told me the luggage nets for the boot are £80odd each! Probably more stuff Ive forgotten but gotta get priorities sorted lol

Not sure about freelander, but when I blanked the egr on my vauxhall astra I used a bit of 1mm aluminium sheet and Blue instant engine gasket sealant. I've even seen some people make a blanking plate out of a coke can.

why blank it ??
just disconnect and plug the vacuum line and clean the inside of the EGR valve.
No more exhaust gas return = no more gunk build up

So that would be a FREELANDER then its bad enough the disco and defender crowd using the other term without one of our own doing the same:eek:

You can pick up cargo nets much cheaper but avoid the really cheap ones, they only last a year or two before stretching out of shape. Our LR ones are still good after a decade.

Cruise control was standard on the ES model in the pre-face lift generation.

Cheers

Got cruise control on my ES V6 :) I believe it's easy enough to retro fit on a TD4 ;)

PHP:
Hi
Mine has not got Cruise Control and it is a ES Auto 02

Weird, because it was supposed to be one of the main differences between the GS and ES. I think the other extras were aircon as standard and a vanity mirror with little lights! Possibly CD player too?

Cheers

I've seen a few v6 ES' s without cruise control which leads me to believe that it was an option even on the ES. GS' s don't always have Leather seats but all ES' s do.

there was no cruise control on my hse, but I retro fitted it first of all make sure the wiring is there . then you need the on of switch , then you need the paddles switches and last you need a second hand ecu for the cruise control and as it is second hand you will not need it programing , mine does work slightly different to my old one first I switch it on then I have to press the res button and then the set button but it all works

Haven't really got the time or effort to mess around like that, I have up being a mechanic 6 months ago lol what about that bloke in Birmingham who supplies and fits the after market kit?
