Hi there to all of you lovely Landy peeps I hope that you and your four wheelers are well and enjoying the great British summer ;)

Was hoping that someone out there have brains to be picked on this matter:

'Bertie' starts first time every time and runs like a dream but is losing coolant big time!!! e.g filled coolant up Sat night, checked driveway Sun morning - dry, checked level Sun morning - still max amount. Took him for a spin 20ish miles - straight drag with foot down, after three hours back home and with a now cool engine checked coolant - approx 1 litre of coolant gone!

Coolant system has had pressure test - no external leaks
Head Gasket - had 'sniff' test - all clear

Not sure but this problem seemed to start after having new cam belt fitted?

Remembering that I'm a newbie what would you recommend be my next step?

With thanks in advance for any information that may help solve this puzzle :)

Have just taken the 'coolant expansion tank' cap off to see if the level has gone down anymore overnight (it hasn't) - as I undid the cap there was definitely a pressure in their and when the cap came off the coolant 'gurgled' for 5-10 seconds - is this normal?

Air in system? Were any coolant system hoses removed when cambelt was done? Possibly bleed the coolant system then see if there's any change...

Bleeding tried but to no avail turned out to be the head cam after all, so after a new head cam and gaskets and a large hole in my wallet he's running beautifully again, phew! lol :)
Thanks again 'Dewin' and 'Disco147' your help is much appreciated xx

Good to hear its up and running:)

While you're looking, it might be worth checking the P gasket for a coolant leak. Could be the reason that the HG went in the first place. BTW, where in Leics are you? I'm in Higham on the Hill, near Hinckley.

Hi there since having the head and gaskets renewed my coolant level has been spot on :D and not a single spot of anything on my driveway either lol
I'm in Wigston so only about 20 miles from where you are :) Seem to be the only Landy lover around here! lol
Hope you've been enjoying the big yellow orb that's been visiting the UK this week - still have no idea what it is but have been making the most of it anyway ;-) xx
