what V8 engine variant do i have?

I, I recently had an lpg conversion on my landy. I want to get a snorkel fitted, but Im not sure were to run it from, the intake on my wing runs into my heater matrix, and the air filter is a big ,ole barrel thing at the bulkhead, I cant see how im gonna hook up a snorkel. can I run it from the other wing intake or do I need to cut into the side of the wing to install it.
Also I have been told my engine was made for American export! is this correct. Its 1988 v8 110 csw. .

Why a snorkel ? By the time you get the engine deep enough to need a snorkel you'll have drowned the electrics ?

your engine is standard uk,with exhaust detox setup..(its even in haynes manual)..mine had that...i hated it..the 110 that is...50mph from a v8!!

to run snorkel you gonna just have to get crafty with silicon gun..lol

I have used standard igntion on mine many a time where it would have been hydrauliced without a snorkel.

Prolonged water work brings on the condensation misfire even with a sealed dizzy bit they will take a good dunk under water and drive out again, but not without a snorkel.

Plus they provide a nice cold air intake instead of soggy air from inside the bay

Reason being is that I have conflicting issues from other landy owners about having a snorkel fitted!
Im new to the green lane/off road scene, and just wanted to cover all bases.
I have been through water but nothing higher than my wheel arches( with a 2 inch lift).
I am aware that v8's don't like the water so I am careful as to were I go.
I have sealed as much of the electrics as possible.
Is a snorkel just overkill and not really needed on a V8?

Can I remove the detox system without having a negative effect on the engine?
Also I can achieve 80 with no problem from my V8.
But she does run a lot better when im on lpg!

You may find the snorkel stops the lpg working right. I have a 90 with LPG and a snorkel when the snorkel is installed I find it stalls at junctions, fine without it.

I had mine half way up the windscreen with 0 issues. DIY snorkel ftw!

I get my v8 wet. Will be fitting a snorkel because I'd rather need a new dizzy than needing a whole new engine
