Evening

Im after some advice, I need to replace my oil cooler (ive brought a replacement). Ive drained all coolants, moved away the ancilliaries around the turbo, whereupon one of the bolts sheared off. Ive now tried 6 (!!!) garages and mobile mechanics to just sort it for me and all not interested (too busy etc..). Anyone recommend someone who can help as its my daily driver. Im in Gravesend, Kent. Its an 02 Defender TD5.

Cheers

Rather than trying garages and mechanics have you thought of taking it to a small engineering workshop?

I havent, to be honest im a complete I have no idea even where to start looking. Ill keep looking.

Head for the oldest industrial estate that you can think of, or in your case head for the riverside, and look for a small unit with a dirty sign that says XXXX Engineering.
Mine is down a muddy lane between a private school and an amateur football club. It's a collection of old (WW2?) corrugated sheds and in one of them are two guys, both over 70, who can turn their hand to almost anything involving metal. They've just removed a sheared, Loctited steel bolt from an aluminium casting for me. I've no idea how, I don't ask.

Yea and for someone to remove the old oil cooler & replace with the new one.
