Hi guys,

I hope this isn't seen as spam but these guys could really help any hippo owner and I thought I should let y'all know. I just went down to Coventry to pick up a rear windscreen that I bought from ebay. It was quite a cool visit! Pawel and his team only break Freelanders and was like a kid in a candy shop! They are really nice fellas and we had a good chinwag. Their prices are beyond reasonable and they offer a solid returns policy. They have just about everything neatly stacked away as well as complete engine/gearbox sets and transmission parts. They were the guys doing the cheap IRD's with the warranty - though they don't sell the ones that are really kaput and don't know what to do with them (Austen, maybe you would have use for them?). They had some really choice parts in that I'm sure you guys would like. I saw among many other goodies:

- A really tidy home made snorkel for the 1.8 that looked really nice. I offrered him £50 but then felt guilty and said stick it on ebay you'll get tons for it.
- Several Tomb Raider body kits ("we sold the last one for a tenner" he says :eek::eek:!!)
- Plush leffer seats from an ES.
- Crap loads of bonnets (£35 each)
- Piles of 15" wheels just begging to be repainted and have AT tyres put on them.
- A few sets of 17" alloys
- They are picking up a HGF hippo that has a STUNNING stainless bullbar and side steps set - I know one of you will want that.
- 3 door roof rails sets for £90.

Basically it was a total wonderland, and if there are any parts on your hippo that could do with replacing for negligable expense then I can highly reccomend them. For the enthusiast who knows what they are looking for these guys have some unbelievable bargains.

Anyway have a look at what they've got if you fancy and you can always call them and ask if they have something you're after (they had boxes and boxes): JJ Car Parts Ebay Shop.

I'll be going back down soon for more bits!!

do you have a phone number or email address for them, there is also a place in Cannock just a few hundred yards from craddocks and all he breaks is freelanders, i can not think of the name though

Addres is Unit 34i, Zone 2B, Bayton Road Int. Est., Coventry, CV7 9EJ. Phone is 07707723003 (ask for Pavel) and email is [email protected]

They had a 5 Series bimmer in to break which is why they've got lots of those parts for sale atm but they had four hippo's in this afternoon :). They have tons of light guards too, cheaper than new by a long way!

Thanks for spreading good word about us, Will. All Freelander enthusiasts are always welcome at JJ Car Parts, we have parts from other cars as well because we are still experimenting but we mainly break hippos and we are not going to stop that :) It supposed to be our part time job but it became too time consuming and, well... addictive so we are taking it serious. We will also have a website soon but this is probably not the place to advertise... You have our details, feel free to email/pm/call us, I hope to meet many of LandyZone users soon!

Hopefully buying roof rails in the morning! nice 1 will!!!

My pleasure mate :). Goodness knows us Freelanderers need all the help we can get keeping the buggers on the road so I'm always on the look out for helpful traders!

The tragedy is that they have so many of some parts that they are going to the scrappie! They've got so many bonnets that there just isn't space - if the Rangie Classic is owt to go by they will be rare as rocking horse **** one day. I think they mentioned that there aren't bothering with tail lights anymore as they have so many boxes full!

Sorely tempted to buy leather seats for mine and have been for last couple o years - get to clicking 'buy now' and always hesitate. I guess it's because this spend is very difficult to justify in real terms i.e. already have perfectly good seats! Mind you, if we only ever bought what we actually needed the economy would crash.:)

With so many usefull parts going to the scrap yard and business looking good for JJC, I think it would be a good idea to open up another reclaimers yard in another part of the country using all the excess parts available.

With all the hippo owners here in Wales, we would welcome somebody like JJC, who specialize in hippo parts and accesories. Probably Cardiff, would be a bit expencive to rent a unit location but up in the valleys rental units are going for next to nothing.

If it'll make you happy and it won't break you, go for it :)! , my Hippo is in good working order but now my grander plans are about to take shape :D!

Could always email them and suggest something :). They just rented the unit next door so they're growing real quick - only been going a year!! Fair play to them, they've found sumat to do and they're getting on with it!

Looks like they have become members of the forum, so hopefully they'll read the posts and get the message.

Yep they're going to be my go to guys I think. I suspect my rad has a leak, may need to visit them again sooner than I though!

I break Freelanders and have done so for the last two years with an ebay shop and based near Stoke on Trent if anyone needs anything.

Anyone bought a recon VCU from them. Ashcroft and Bells are really expensive. The JJ one is £299 with a 6 month warranty. I hear though that some of the recons can be a bit light in silicon and metal and not much use if you do need 4 WD.
