It looks sh!t, has high miles, engine bay looks poorly maintained, colour change not followed throughout, not a CSW, only two doors so the rear seats may not be on the v5 and if not... Well you know the rest!

Ooh, not seen that before!

Not sure about it ...

Nor me hence the post ;)

is it a gaylander or hairdressers motor :lol:

I might be a hairdresser:eek:

This one looks ok from the advert, fairly standard as far as I can see
Your not kidding about the prices jumping up, if you can hold off till summer you will save a bit
Land Rover Defender COUNTY STN WAGON 12 SEATS TDI 4dr 1993

I do really like that, was advised to get a 300 tdi though I don't know what the difference is between the two engines, also this ones miles [and miles] away from me.

Holding out for summer will be tough, we just sold a split screen camper to buy a landrover and any money left needs to go on the house, if I start house projects first it'll eat into the landy fund:( won't if I've got one though:D

Agree agree agree and agree [is that enough agreeing;)] I did spot the engine bay and colour change and you can see he hasn't spent any money there:(

the black barstid looks like it lives in a tough area,
as 8foot walls wiv razor wire ontop looks real,
err, ****e place to live.....

no wonder theres a safe box in the back to hide from everyone....

Did you see the hoody guy in the reflection on one of the pic's:eek:

+1, I know which one I'd be looking at if it were me;);)

+1

Black one is probably nicked anorl Donny has a bad rep for nicked motors.

Educate me please

This ones older than I wanted, a few more miles than I'd have liked and looks to have had some welding on the chassis I think but what else can you see from the pic's supplied?

Landrover Defender 110 County Station Wagon in Lincolnshire | Used Land Rover for sale | Gumtree.com

I'm not after running this man's car down just learning what to look for, what looks right and what to steer clear of.

Cheers all

19J engine.....not the most refined

Unless you want an old school tratter look for a tdi

A chassis being welded is fairly expected at this age, it's more down to how well it has been welded and looked after. Difficult to say from the pics but I would say its worth a look, go over the chassis with a screw driver tapping it to find anyone corrosion or body filler being used to hide holes. If I was you I would widen my search and be willing to travel a good few hundred miles to look at some good ones

Heh, didn't see it was from here .. think I know where it is as well, recognise the green gates.

I wouldn't give anyone 4 £1 coins for a fiver round there .. not worth the paper they're printed on!

Thanks for that, learning all the time;)

Cheers for the advice, problem I have with travelling further afield looking for landy's is no one else drives in my family, I'm new to the area and it's pretty rural here, no one I can ask to drive me a few hundred miles to view:(

Saying that though I have been out to Germany twice buying campers and sent £6k over to the States for one I hadn't seen beforehand;)

Last motor I bought while living up here I had to get a taxi to Louth, a coach down to Birmingham, a coach back up to Stafford then another cab, took 8 hours to get there and two hours to drive back home:rolleyes:

if youve got to spend money on the house and need a family friendly car you might be better looking at 300tdi discoveries ...5 door 7 seat and a bit more padding and sound proofing ..mechanically pretty much the same as a 110 but .. half the price of a 110csw...just look for rust in the floor and inner wings

might be worth trailing round a few 4x4 independant dealers to see the range of vehicles available

We did think of taking this route but there just isn't enough room behind the discovery's rear seats, we have a Husky and Northern Inuit to fit in the back as well as perhaps picnic stuff if I can convince the kids to come out for the day.

It's a shame as you said, they are half the price of a defender just don't think they're big enough:(

Was even looking at going down this route
