Disco 2 is a different set up with normal ballpoint and no shims, to the Op,what about the tyres themselves, some cheap tyres are shocking on the road.
My own V8 D2 has Michelin boots and is very stable on the road.

+1 - or even excessive wear on decentish road tyres. I swapped from approaching-bald Goodyear Wrangler HP to new Grabber AT before the w/e and it seems to have cured my wandering/tramlining woes on tarmac

He is effectively runing oversize tyres if on the original rims,i am aware many do but may not be helping plus you say the pressures are correct but what is correct almost certainly on oversize tyres pressure would need to be a bit lower but not always the case,my own truck runs 30psi front 32psi rear on standard fitment at2 tyres so i would try some different not to radical pressure changes.

B F Goodrich tyres, rims all straight too,

the tyres are 255/65 /16 standard size tyres for the car 30 psi front 32 psi rear,

its not a tyre issue!
