my 99 on a v reg battery went flat as was not used for 3 wks .
however since ive jump started it from jump pack. the both front doors are not locking from remote control. but rear locks are working as normal is there a sequence to reprogram the front door locks as this is the second p38 for this to have happened with me in as many weeks please help :(

You need to resync your fob by pressing the lock button then inserting the key into the lock, locking the car with the key (button still pressed) then unlock again still with button pressed then take key out and release the button. This should resync the fob with the car and it should now work.

Let us know how you get on.

No worries mate, this info may help.

Door Lock Malfunctions:
Jim Harringer had a problem where both front doors on his 97 4.0SE failed to lock on command from the remote. Other doors locked, and the alarm activated, but the front doors remained unlocked. "This lead to many embarassing incidents where my wife walked up to the truck at the grocery story and opened the door before i got the alarm disabled: HONK! HONK! HONK!,,etc." Jim's local dealer said both front door latches needed replacing: $550 per door, parts and labor. Jim bought an bought an ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual), and spent a Saturday staring at the inside of his driver's door. Sure enough, it seemed like the little motor in there was bad, so he ordered two latches for $219 each/ They had different connectors, but worked! Since Jim's report, others have related similar incidents including being unable to open a door from inside or out even with the mechanical handles.

It's up to you to be honest, it depends how good your battery is. P38's have a tendency to lock themselves if they sense the battery draining, keys in or out of it! I'm flying back to the UK for a couple of weeks in Sept and will be disconecting the neg leads on both of my P38s to save the batteries from draining and causing problems. The best option I would say would be to have someone start it for you every couple of days just to keep the battery topped up. That's what I do here in the winter when I'm not using either of them, as it gets very cold here which batteries hate.

my fob opens locks and set alarm on drivers door only rest have to be done manually but if there all open and you press down the door switch on the passengers door it locks both the front ones been like this since i got it would love it to be fixed but sounds dear

anybody know of a reasonable priced and reliable auto electrician with knowledge of P38 in the Durham UK area please

First introduce yourself, second second start your own thread, third tell us what type of car it is, petrol, diesel etc, then try telling us what is wrong with it and you might just get some help.

Just to be clear. Fob opens driver only.

Locking passenger manually locks passenger and drivers (which was already working remotely) but not rears?

Sounds like dead locking motors in the actuator of both rears and the passenger door to me.

PS. What colour dot on the RF receiver unit under the drivers-side rear parcel shelf?
