Hundreds of them on ebay selling plates without proof of ownership, I don't know how they get away with it but they do.

Latest one sent over to AVCIS. Presume they'll have to interrogate the Ebay system to get owner data etc.

Have also mentioned the number plate seller to them but as barmatt says, there seems to be loads of sellers like this. I think you can have these plates made with no evidence of ownership for 'show plates' and I guess that's how these guys get away with it... although it's hardly clear from their advert...

Sadly, I heard from my main contact at the rural crime side of AVCIS, that he is going back to his local force next week and the powers that be have decided not to replace him. So that will only leave one person on that section and he'll no doubt be busy with all the nicked farm plant etc... Going forward now, I'm not sure how much feedback we'll get and indeed what action they'll be taking on anything other than the easy/blatant examples

That's a huge shame

You'd think the insurance companies would be happy to all put in a bit of money to fund them since they are really saving them lots of money and work.

So, it's down to one man for the whole country?

£450 for a "chassis" - probably unuseable, pictures of V5, but not of the chassis!

tis amazing how quick some these items disappear of fleabay once flagged up here...

Might I suggest links are pm'd to partymonkey and replies to posters put on the thread. not everyone on here will be totally honest

PM's are fine if folk wish to do it that way.

I'm now taking a screen shot of the ebay ad or make a note of the VRM (when shown) to send that to AVCIS too, just in case the ads are pulled... but that of course relies on me getting to it first.

Just bumping this to say that I am still getting updated via PM on LandyWatch and they're the same as those being flagged up on threads in here too.

All are being sent on to AVCIS for them to consider if they wish to pursue, flag via DVLA etc...

Sadly, I'm not getting the feedback from plod as I did previously.
