some thieving bastards stole all the doors off my 90 a couple of weeks ago in the wakefield area. Been told that if costs of replacements exceeds 60-70% of market value of my Landy, insurance company will write it off. Anyone know where I can source all the parts? thanks

Sorry to hear that mate
look on ebay. you'll probably get your old ones back if your lucky.

First off do not agree to anything without you keeping it/ buying it back

Age would be helpful but you'll be able to replace 2nd hand for a fraction of the value.....even if it's a wreck

thanks for advice. police said the same.

Isnt this something the police should be doing? you know, a bit of investigating? I know we have to help ourselves a bit, well OK a lot, but Im a bit fed up of police saying we should do 'this' and we should do 'that' .. what about you Mr Plod? What are you going to do about it other than give me a crime number?

There rant over (cos Im having to go back to work after jollys)

Like I say sorry about the doors, just a relief it wasnt the whole car.

:hysterically_laughi

oh the inocense! :)

Sorry to hear that.
Do you use facebook at all....there's quite a few landy related groups on there....and a fair few pikeys that seem to be offering parts for sale all the frigging time!? ;)

That only happens with police on the TV n films. Real life police are too busy with paperwork to get out and about.

Rebuild your whole land rover using security bolts???

Four legged furry alarm would have seen em off as soon as the first door was off.

fastening the door on with some of these might work for a bit till the thieves get wise and buy a suitable socket:

Pin Hex Countersunk Security Machine Screw

The pattern does seem to be if they can have it away, they will, if they can't start it they'll have the doors and if they can't get the doors off they torch it so if they can't have it, you can't either.

A couple of years ago friend had about 6" of chassis gassed off the front of his rrc because the ****s wanted the winch. It was held on with security bolts. instant wright off:mad:

There's sod all of my doors left anyhow. There are two companies selling doors online that are new for a reasonable price. One in Liverpool other in Louth I think.

Question though. Will the new doors fit straight on? There's an all steel rear door but different make up available that doesn't look as susceptible.

I'm pretty sure that they will, you'd need the glass and all the fixings to go with that bare door though. That firm seem to have some keen priced pattern stuff, I'd contact them direct rather than go through ebay though, they'll be paying 10% commission so there ought to be a bit of a discount for dealing direct.

I came across this firm that are selling take off TDCi parts,

Land Rover Sales - Defender New Take off Panels

£800 + vat for a pair of new doors in white, big chunk of cash, but half rotten ones are doing £150 a piece on ebay.
