radio problems

good morning everyone,

my wife was out in the range the other day and for some reason the speakers at the front started to crackle. its as thou the anttena isnt plugged in (although it is) but it does it when playing a cd aswell
we have taken the door cards off and checked all the wiring but all seems fine. its both speakers in both front doors?

any help would be greatly appreciated as its driving me round the bend

Got the same problem. If i give the centre consul a bash with my hand it cures it for a while.

Got to replace a couple of bulbs in my hevac, so whilst i'm at it, i'll clean up the radio connections with contact cleaner and give everything a quick squirt of ACF50.

Should have this done by Thursday. Will let you know if this stops the problem.

That will almost certainly be a loose connection in the amp (since it is on multiple speakers).
It happens occasionally on my analogue mixer and you need to twiddle the connections to bring back fidelity: so as festa says, cleaning/replugging the connections behind the unit should help

Is it the clarion unit? If so which model, they look the same.
