took mine into jsf landrover in norwich for a block test to see if my td5 head gasket has gone bad news is its gonna be between £750 and £1100 so having to cancel xmas go busking and pimp out the wife :bounce:

Changed my panhard rod to a nice new one with superpro bushes!

easy job!

changed number 2 ball joint!

arse of a job! and realised cross rod eye is bent! steering damper eye is bent! and number one ball joint is shot!

looked at rear track rod and decided play it safe and get a new one before replacing the track rod ball joints.

left most of the skin from ma right knuckles on under side of ma 90!

Managed to get speakers out. All knackered. Will be replacing them tomorrow. Gonna build a new box for a sub I've got lying around. Good news it's active so got its own amp. Will be screwed to the back door and wired in.

Got the gearbox lined up to go on. Ran out of time doing it so its day ready to tomorrow afternoon. Been off the road 4 weeks gearbox been missing for 2!

Joys of living on a farm, fork lift! Gearbox fit under a treat!

what reason for failing did tester give. seatbelt mounts or body mount??


Boot floor int structural so shouldn't fail for been rusty. seatbelts pass thru floor but aren't reliant on the floor for any of their structural integrity. so can't be failed on belts. which only leaves body mounts and unless they're really bad he shouldn't have failed it if the other mounts are good.

Worked out a way of not having to change the bulb in my reversing light...... Reverse into a bollard and smash the whole thing off instead

So yer getting the hang of it then then

I have already done the n/s/r body mount for the mot in the summer that was a nippy job its self . The tester said it was the seat belt mounts and the n/s rear seat prop that were not safe..
The floor is only bad at the last 300 mm up to the fuel sensor hatch will i have to buy the hole floor or do you get a shorter section?

T' weren't my fault ... the bollard crept into my blind spot and flung itself at my bumper

Not mine but watched it being fully valeted, six hour job, removing swirls from paintwork, polishing and detailing

Not my cup of tea the V6 diesel, sounds nice though

Drove it home with suspected swivel bearing collapsed and no grease in it
Now it's sat on stands and leaking the remainder fluid/grease on to the drive.
Next weeks job now

Replaced the burnt out headlight connectors on my brothers disco 6 months after doing the same job on mine !!!!

me and Series06 emptied a full load of junk outta the back of the 109 at the local tip.Just as well that I had my brakes sorted or the bell end that pulled out in front of me without looking while I was doing 50 would be dead !

tester is a ****er the only thing holding the seat belt anchorage to the floor is 2 pop rivets. ask him how the fook they're supposed to hold in a crash. the anchorages are held by a ring bolt that goes from chassis to anchorage. which is then held steady at the floor by 2 rivets.. Full floor is about 40 quid just cut out what you need if you don't wanna do full floor.
