Freelander 1 interior light coming on when driving plus dash light with door open symbol flashing on and off with interior light. When using fob to lock car, sometime it beeps, if not, alarm will sound usually 3am in the night. In the past if I closed the door rear back door o/s/r drivers side with a slam, it would stop for a while. So heres what I've done so far. tried moving the striker in and out in different positions! no difference. Put a brand new door lock mechanism in, no difference. Actuated the bonnet alarm switch a number of times to make sure it wasn't at fault, no difference. Still interior light coming on when driving plus dash light with door open symbol flashing on and off with interior light and alarm activating. It's the closing the o/s/r door again which fixes the problem temporarily is what really gets me. Can anyone help please

Very similar to another recent thread. Probably a door switch not switching. more than likely the rear tailgate. Is this the part you said you replace?

I think this is the main clue, I suggest tracing the wiring from the o/s/r door switch back to the CCU in the hope that you may find a wiring fault, most likely would be the harness section between the o/s/r door and the B post as the wiring is under most stress at this point.

What is the B post?
