Paddock Spares taking the P***

Paddocks sold it to you.... the part was not fit for it's stated purpose... so THEY are obliged to give you a refund. It is up to them to then get their money back from their supplier.

I would stop talking to the hired help and insist on a manager or higher. Advise them of the problem, inform them that the missing funds have sent you overdrawn and advise them that you are taking legal advice on adding the overdraft fees too your claim for reimbursement.

Absolutely bang on the nail. Your course of action is with the seller who is liable to make good the breach - the law is very clear on this. They can chase up the supplier in their own time - not your problem at all.

If you paid by credit card, raise a dispute with your credit card company.

Let them fight the case for you, its what they get paid for

You're doing very well not having this thread removed already.
Give it time and someone who knows someone, who works with someone, who is a relation to someone who works for Paddocks will be one here. Or create a new account.
With a bit of extra trolling thrown in for good measure, the usual names pointing out the bleedin obvious, and defending the indefenceable, before you know it the supplier will be perfect one and you will be the bad man.
Doesn't matter how much lies n nonsense a supplier gives, that's the way these threads seem to go.
Then, give it a couple of days and they're be some new amazing customer google reviews contradicting your own experiences entirely!

You read it here first. It happens, true story. ;)

P.S. Thank the lord I paid using Paypal to get my money back with my particular crappy supplier (Island4x4).
P.P.S Good luck mate

I odered a seatbelt from paddocks a few days ago. They needed to order it in speshul.

I had a phonecall telling me when they were receiving it and a email telling me when my order had been dispatched. I've only ever had one problem order with paddocks and they sorted it out without a fuss.

I ordered a wheel bearing kit. They sent me an EGR blanking kit.
I phoned them straight away and they promised the bearing kit would be with me next day. It was and they told me to keep the blanking kit.:D
Cant complain.

Or you could be mature and deal with it with the company in hand like mature adults

So should I order my wheels/tyres from them? After all this they seem quite good and helpful?

Yes... if they are a price you are happy with and the wheels / tyres you want. chances are everything will be perfect, they're one of the largest Land Rover parts suppliers, i expect 99% of their transactions go well. You might be unlucky, if you are, they may sort it out for you quickly and easily, or, you maybe in the 0.001% of people where it just all goes wrong for them. s**t happens with any company you buy from.

You sound like you might have a collection of tin foil hats at home, everything is a conspiracy even a mistake in retail and happy customers saying happy things:rolleyes:

Sometimes you need to take a realistic view and not expect the world. If you expect everything to be perfect everytime with no errors, delays or issues then you are setting yourself up to be disappointed, if you accept mistakes happen, sometimes more than once, then you can deal with these problems without throwing your toys out the pram and things get done to rectify the issue!

So should I order my wheels/tyres from them? After all this they seem quite good and helpful?

Yes, there is no reason to worry about paddocks, they are a good company, the are huge, they ship all over the world, they have a good reputation and I bet there are alot more happy customers on these forums than unhappy (this thread has kinda proved that)

This is a bit like the BRITPART argument, they are a massive company and they produce so many parts that are used all over the world, when your selling that many items, especially in the budget end of the spectrum, your bound to get failures and thats all we hear about online, never about the millions of people who are happy using thier parts.

The mistakes are not normally the biggest problem, as such.
It's how they're then handled and 'rectified' that frequently causes customer anger n frustration.

No conspiracies, just actual realities mate.

I can handle the faulty part, it happens - its a shame its taking so long to rectify, unfortunately I've not rang them today as I got up at 4am, filled the disco up and set off for work and had a breakdown at 05:10 - suspected HG failure... plus I've had some s*** with the senior manager at work which has resulted in me leaving me job... doh! I'll have a look at the landy tomorrow n give paddocks a ring amongst ringing round for a full time job, on the plus side I got a few bits n pieces lined up to tide me over and money in the bank should see me right for a few weeks so its not all bad - gives me a few days to tinker ;)

I was trying to diplomatic and give the company a chance to sort my issues out, I'll start from the beginning - in July when I put an order in for just over £140 which included a clutch kit... clutch kit turned up, I didn't have time to fit it so paid a mate who's a fully qualified mechanic, he fitted it and guess what - Faulty... great I thought! So rang paddocks and had to pay for a new one whilst returning the old one. Now... the new one was fine, but of course, I had to pay said mate to fit it again and I'm current sat here still without a refund and constantly being fobbed off. Just spoke to them again today and have just been informed that the only sent the part back to they're supplier last friday - I'm finding two things hard to believe here...

1) HOW THE F*** can a company take that long to send a part back to they're supplier

2) HOW THE F*** can they keep my money this long legally?

I've been promised a call back and I've requested it be by the end of the day to which I got yet another evasive answer putting blame on they're supplier so tomorrow they will be getting a call with threats to trading standards - if that doesn't do anything then I will be following said threats!

I know others have had issues with Paddocks on here before and was wondering how much success people had when fighting to get money back from them??

Not read all the thread cos I can't be rrrrrrrrrrrrrsed, what was the problem with the first clutch Paddocks supplied to you ???????????

once it was fitted it wouldn't engage gear - i was away working so had to take his and my ol mans word for it, suspect the pressure plate was faulty?? I'm no clutch expert though.

I've an incy wincy feeling your eggspurt mechanic might be at fault here. ;)

Always used paddocks, for about 4 years now, never had a problem yet, but if you are worried about refunds in the future pay with paypal just out of interest was it a britpart HD clutch kit? always buy the best you can afford when it comes to parts that could strand you

sorry to hear about you losing your job hopefully you'll sort something out

soloby_rob... i trust his workmanship and I have an incy wincy feeling I said he was a qualified mechanic not an eggspurt mechanic ;)

new2landies - unfortunately yes... when it goes again i'll be chucking the borg+beck clutch in, i believe i've read somewhere you can fit defender 130 clutches in which makes it a bit more heavy duty too... i'll do some proper research nearer the time!

No worries about the job, i got money coming in from work i've already done and I got a couple of bits lined up so I'm gonna enjoy a few days off before I start crackin on with finding more work!
