goes out after you drive 10-20 yards.
The only thing i can see wrong is a slightly squashed bit of the grey wire which i take it to be the abs sensor wire!!
Other than that, all good.
Any ideas folks?

You will also notice, if you put your foot on the brake before starting the engine then start it, you may feel the peddle pulse as the Abs does a pre-drive off check!!

Doesn't that mean the air gap on one of your sensors is to great??? I don't re-call anything about a pre drive off check.... What is it checking for???

Hi, a lot of ABS systems do this, its a systems check, Its not so much about time but speed, normally around 15 to 25 kph, I dont know much about landys! but have come across this with other vehicles, As long as the ABS light goes out and theres no "chatter" felt on the brake pedal, I would not be to Worried.

All the abs ecu is checking for on early freelanders is a wheel speed signal of more than 5mph from all wheel speed sensors, as soon as the abs ecu see's a speed signal from all sensors the abs light is turned off. If it stay's on there is a fault. This is pefectly normal for early freelander's. MOT test station's should also know this for when they are testing.

The Abs unit does a valve and motor chech at start up iirc. Sometimes there a buzz sound as well as a quick vibration through the peddle. This happens about 1 second after starting the engine before driving off! If it does it at slow speed then it's a sensor
