done all things suggested, but still not door opening. Except two things.

1) how do I check the regulator is working or not ?

2) I have added a pic of where the wiper motor parks, if anyone can say its ok or not ? If not how do I adjust it ?

If its none of these what else can I do?

If the window goes up and down, its working.

If it doesnt move, its not working

finaly got round to replacing the rear door loom, relays.

but i still have the same problem

no rear window up or down , heated rear window , wash wipe and will not recalibrate

what i forgot to say was this happened when the fan belt broke and the battery went flat.

Any ideas, ?

just had the same problem on mine, checked the fuses, relays and wiring all ok, took the back panel off the rear door from the inside (unfortunately a couple of the screwed lugs at the bottom broke as I could not get to them) I wiggled the conections near the window demister points and it started working again, sprayed with wd40 and all seems ok again?

take battery of for 30 mins then try again

I did this, and although the window will still not come down, the door latch will now open. This means I now have a slightly more attractive method to getting into the boot to investigate because up until know I've been faced with getting in from the saloon through a Safety Devices load guard.

It'll give me something to do next weekend at the Bristol & West Land Rover Show!

Have you managed to solve the door problem? I have suddenly got the same thing - door completely dead, no click and alarm thinks door is open - i.e. it beeps when locking other doors, but there is no indicator light for open door - it works on all the others.
Help

After months of fiddling, my door started working again absolutely fine after two weeks of not using tbe car when tbe battery was low but not flat. The firtst time I went back to use it, the alarm went off when I opened the bonnet, but after that the car awoke from it's slumber and all worked ok.

I'm wondering if it will recurr so I can try all the suggestions again.

Cheers

Regarding the rear boot door on freelander not opening. I tried everything and the cure for mine was very simple. in the heat the window sticks to the rubber hence the window does not move down which has got to happen for the door to open. get a thin blade behind the rubber and go along releasing the rubber stuck to window, I used a little water at same time. started car then stopped locked doors then they all worked when opened again.

Hi, all update on my last post regarding boot door not opening. It does say in landrover book that these freeze in winter but it don't say they will stick in heat and if window is not kept clean . As I said in last post use a thin blade and a little water where the wiper sits and the top of window can stick as well once open thin blade the rubber inside of window as well and open more often and keep clean.

You can avoid window problems the way I do......

Don't use the window half the year!

My rear door has just started randomly playing up. Open it up, put the dogs in. Drive to the beach, rear door won't open. However, a well placed fist approximately half way along plastic mould above the door catch so far sorted it and then the door opens normally. What's most likely cause of this? AFAIK all other parts work - ie window drops, goes up down ok. Dont want a scenario where can't open the door with two excitable dogs in there!

So you went to the beach with two excitable dogs, the rear door wouldn't open but a well placed fist sorted it out..

hi all,

Our freelanders back door has stopped working ie, the glass will not go up or down and the door itself will not open (with or with out the key and remote). I have checked the fuse and is ok. Can anyone tell me what could cause both these problems at the same time?

:5bdriving:
My Freelander 56 plate rear door would not unlock. After removing panel from inside car (four screws at bottom + pull) and removing outer switch/keypanel problem was found to be one of the paddle switch springs had rusted and broken thus jamming the switch lever. Saved a few hundred pounds if I had gone to main dealer!
