personally i would remove it and give it a good clean up and repaint then refit using tiger seal on frame to roof and any connections remove rubber seal and clean with washing up liquid (washing up liquid revives them). while you have it out check your drain pipes arnt blocked with bits of leaves etc.
i have only done disco ones but if they have done them the same way then remove all the old sealant and tiger seal the lot up proper the old stuff may look ok but its crap and splits easy

Check the drain tubes,if they are blocked it will cause this.

if the frame is completely corroded you can change it and retain the glass :)

my pipe was kinked on the second pic so sleaved it with a small piece of copper to keep it open

im not sure about freelanders but on disco you will need to pull roof liner out to do this job and yes this is were the water runs to get to drain tubes.

but as i said it is a bad design and will need sealing properly to ensure you dont get this problem in the future on disco you can rip roof liner out in about half hour

mine also leaks on drivers side. have tried pushing a wire coat hanger down to clear the drain tubes but it wont go down and seems to stop, what do you do to clear the tubes out ?

Before I delve too deeply into this, can someone tell me whether I can get to the bits I need to, like replacing the frame possibly and unblocking the drain tubes, WITHOUT removing the roof lining. (Far too much trim etc to do that !).

Cheers.........ebt
