Wow, I see they are located in baloneyville but they also have a branch in phooeytown.

That's just a piece of **** VCU that has had it's fluids drilled. Anyone who buys that is very poorly advised. I'm not sure about Prop removal being an MOT advisory, I call that horsehoeey.
 
What a fantastic piece of kit - I must get one before they are all sold.

It'll save me a fortune on repairs.

Mind you I could buy a bicycle and save even more.

Who in their right mind is going to buy this.

Wait a minute - if I had a Freelander with a duff VCU or rear diff I could fit one of these, and sell it as though it were in perfect nick.

I can see nothing in the UK VOSA MOT Tester's Manual that would warrant an advisory for having no prop-shaft.
Personally I would not want to run at all in 2WD except in an emergency (waiting or saving for a new VCU for example) - but there is nothing in the Law or MOT rules preventing me from doing it if I wish.

They don't fail the Mot with props removed. Although if the propshaft is fitted it then becomes an Mot test item so must be in good working order so UJs and the front joint boot must be ok.
Of course without the VCU/prop you can test the brakes on the rollers!!

Yep! Can't remember the technical name but they put a box thing in passenger footwell, drive, stop then use the reading to assess whether braking is even and sufficient. Working opposite an MOT garage teaches you all sorts ;)
 
The brake test unit you are thinking of is a tapley meter . HTSH
BTW running with prop off wont hurt at all , as the drive only goes to back if front wheels slip, Freebi is really FWD with rear wheel assist HTSH
 
i've seen a few threads on here with regard's to the fuel consumption benefits, but they all seem to say there is no real difference:confused:??? why bother with 2wd, if you don't want 4wd, don't buy a land rover imo ;):)
 
What a feckin useless piece of engineering that is, can't believe anyone would buy that ****e waste of money???:scratching_chin:
