Hi,

I have just swapped a 2005 Saab 93 for a 2004 Freelander S, and I'm now experiencing a few problems and would love. Some help or advice:

1) Driver side electric window switch for the front passenger window does not work (I have stripped and looked, but Nothing seams to be out of the ordinary) the front passenger window switch works and the window will operate up and down from the passenger side.

2) Front windscreen wipers have a mind of there own whistle on intermittent wipe, but work fine on normal and fast operation. Whistle they are on intermittent wipe they will travel from park to the vertical position and stay there for 2 maybe 3 seconds then travel part way back down but not reaching the park position, they 2 or 3 second they will travel back up the screen.

3) Starting the Freelander seams fine and so is the idle speed, when you drive for the first time they is quiet a lot of White/blue smoke for the first 3-5 miles.
Whistle driving there seams to be a flat spot when changing from 3rd to 4th gear the turbo seems to be late.
I had the Freelander booked into Micheldever for a Full service, tyres and as it turned out a new back box (due to a hole between the I near and outer skins) I though this may help but it has not.
On travelling to and from the north west I have notice other problems like when the Freelander is taken over 3000 rpm for less than. Mile the engine management light with ! Comes on and may disappear (if not then I turn the engine off for 20 seconds, sorry to go on but this is the last one, whistle on the motorway and maintaining a constant speed, the Freelander will hesitate (feels like you are deaccelarating then it will pick back up.

Please help

pug it 206 does the same
if your not right on revs at gear changes or hit incline in wrong gear then it detects a missfire although it may be a sign of somthing about to go or a non standard chaep ignition coil pack (whatever the **** that is)
get a proper landie and be done with it

Just a question when you swaped the 95 for the freelander.

Did it cume with assless chaps and vaseline.

hi what you have is a typical freelander ! unfortunately the issues you describe are very common !! some problems can be tracked down to injection wiring . ecu failure or just crap wiring !!! i wish you luck getting it sorted and if you do manage to get it right .. get ready for the next breakdown !! it wont be long coming !!! the head will probabaly fall in half !! youre a braver .richer man than me mate !! At a dealer expect to be robbed of at least a grand !!! ouch !!

not sure what spelling or a PSV licence has to do with owning a gaylander (oops, my spelling...) by the way, it's 'your' PSV licence, not "you" PSV licence...
