before i go on i have been through quite a few old threads but cant seam to get a definate answer so im going to try here

when i first start the motor in the mourning or after it has sat and gone cold i get an unsteady idle. i have a video but not sure how to upload. the reves bounce up and down, under 1000rpm, for a while then after it is driven all is fine again.

now in attempts to fix this the fuel pressure sensor and harness was changed, the lift pump was changed and most recently injectors where checked and one was replaced at blrc (independant lr specialist)

i thought maybe a camshaft sensor but most people put that down to warm starting problems when mine is warm the idle hardly moves on start up.

really starting to get me down so any ideas would be great

i would check air being drawn in as it gets warm pipe/diaphram may expand sealing the leak so you would be better checking when cold

Its not dead yet just critical lol. I will check the hoses for a leek thanks for the advice . Any other things that need checking anyone can think of.

well had a look today and checked the two hoses coming from the intercooler.the top pipe seams worn down on the bend but cant seam to find a hole in it. might get some of that pipe repair tape to see if that makes a differance. i do plan on fitting new silicon hoses but dont want to go spending money on that and still have a starting problem

well tried patching the hole and if anything its getting worse. dealer wants to change crank sensor next the list of new parts is getting longer but the problem is getting worse.

I think he meant your battery might be dead . Put a volt meter on it after a good drive ,should be 12.4ish ,check again in the morning . Any drop means its f**ked .

ahh o.k. will sugest that to the dealer he has had it for a few days and no joy.could always take the battery out of my dads td5 defender when he is not looking :5breddevil:
