Hi all, don't think my last post loaded.

P38 parked up and locked but indicators all stuck on. What can cause that? I'm not with it for a few days so need to know how buggered it might be apart from the promise of a flat battery!

Ta!

BECM may just be "confused" if you have the EKA code try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Also worth checking the under bonnet fuse box for signs and smell of burning and check that the carpet is not wet around the BECM. finally check you have good battery voltage, ECU's tend to go crazy on low volts.

Be prepared tho most dealers do charge for EKA as they access the database an pull all the info for you VIN incl original stereo codes and key id numbers. Cost me £55. They will need to take copies of your logbook and ID so unlikely to do it over the phone.

Damn...£55....you were mugged....I have heard of reports of around £20 before....

There may be some one close by with a Faultmate or similar full fat device who could read the EKA directly from the BeCM....

Sounds like it! Still it was worth it as having no docs for the car didnt want to find myself stuck and paying for recovery. Obviously varies from franchise to franchise. Was at newport pagnall if anyone is interested. Even idies with full fat devices will prob charge the hourly labour rate for plug in but useful if you want codes read at the same time

Depends how desperate you are i guess....
