Hi all

First posts and its about tyres !!

I have searched the net and found that the stock tyres fitted to a freelander were 215/65H R16, and that they may have been upgraded to 225/55/R17.

Its got pirelli scorpion strs on at the min ( 225/55/R17 ) I will be fitting 4 new tyres over the weekend, but now I have found that it might be possible to fit the 16" tyres it has opened up several other options of tyres.

I realise tyres will have been done to death, but I am about to spend a fair amount of cash, I would like to make an educated decision.

Thanks in advance

Mark

I may be mistaken, but if you have 17" rims, shirley you can't seriously fit 16" tyres to them? If you don't do any offroading, stick to Scorpions - they are very popular here. If you want something with a bit more bite, General Grabber All Terrains are very good and BF Goodrich All Terrains are generally considered to be the tyre of choice for mudders. At least based on what I have read here. I will be buying Grabbers meself :).

Will.

I did wonder when I read it, it definately has 17s on at the mo.. it was some tyre shop, entered my reg and it came out with all this 16" stuff!

Id like to stick to the str's but after buying a new VDU I cant really afford 800 quid for them :(

I can manage 500 ish lol... I am from Yorkshire after all

Aye its looking like I might have to buy some smaller alloys !

I just cannot justify 200 quid on a tyre.. for the 17's

Mark, I got str's for £140 a corner from halfrauds, was last year though. I've just had a look on blackcircles, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Hope this helps.

Dunc

Then Im a tyke, its an amusing place to live haha

Dunc, Cheers for that... Ive never used black circles before, seems simple enough as STRs at £137 per corner fitted it seems a good deal.

What sort of mileage do the STRs give?

Mark

EDIT.. haha and a load of Tesco club card points! Thats it its sold !

Get some proper tyres!!!!
