Hi everybody I hope somebody can help me.i have a 300tdi disco that has started to blow white disel smoke after about 1minute from starting.i put a scanner on and it says fuel temp circut fault code 130 and injector begin fault code142 .also it says coolant temp is minus 35 and also fuel temp is minus 35. Would I be right in thinking its over fueling it's self thus causing white unburnt diesel smoke.i am only guessing this but I don't have a clue what the cause isi hope somebody can point me in the right direction.thanks in advance .derick

White smoke usually means water in cylinders or un burnt diesel if very cold. Mine produced white smoke when i had it in the alps at -22c but only for about 5 mins then it cleared away. So it sounds more like water ingress. Open the oil filler cap and check the oil. If it looks like creamy coffee then good chance it's head gasket.

Hi thanks for reply.its definitely unburnt fuel smoke.it doesn't use a drop of water and the oil is clean and not contaminated

err142

fuel temp sensor - is inside the fuel injection pump, under a removable plate. It is mentioned in the Workshop Manual and briefly in the Haynes.
