Hi as suggested by the title, most series fans like keeping them original, but at 17, i dont ! got a series 3 88 just put a 2.5td into it, and a bonus insurance is only £2700 hm cheap !
back to the point, so id ont roll the thing, and to make it "cool" i want the tyres out the arches ! i know one way of acheiving this is to get spacers but are there any rims where the hub is further in ? also the bfg's iv got will catch the wheel arch, how do i cut them and what shape ? i dont want mud guards as they look stuuupid !
any ideas would be really usefull cheers

Don't forget - to pass an mot, the arches have to come out further than the tyres, so you'll need extended ones with spacers (unless you take them off every time it's tested!) :)

defender wont be as cheap to insure or to buy ! plus the landy is over twice my age !, erm yeh but there is 365 days in a year so enough time to swap tyres back around :) honestly though can you get in set rims ?

Also I think it's illegal to have tyres that seriously overhang the arches due to the extreme damage they can cause to people, plod love to pick up on things like that - especially if you plan on driving the poor old thing like your going to roll it...

Tyres past the arches are a bit like having a tail light perminantly out.......It'll give plod an excuse to pull you over everytime you pass one whose a bit bored.

Why not comprimise? 235/85's on offset rims will fill the arches with the tyre flush to the line of the body without losing any turning circle or having to cut anything AND everything can easily me put back to standard

Why would you be worried about rolling it if you were driving safely? Best thing you can do it keep it near enough standard, just add toys.

If you put crazy stuff on without telling insurance insurance is void if anything happens. Then you will truly know how expensive insurance can get. You might even get an i10 endorsement of license.

At your age with an i10 there is no way you will get insurance.full stop.

Just make it smart. Seats, lights etc.

Nowt cooler that making a mint series

your a muppet that has never been around land rovers by the sound of it please dont cut it about to make it cool in your eyes as you will ruin the motor if i was you i would just sell the motor and buy a saxo or a 106 with a dustbin exhaust like all my mates did just put a set of 235 85 16s on it they will fill the arches nicely no need for cutting and being a pratt and add a few spot lights on the roof and a decent stero system and a capstan or mayflower winch some comfy seats and go and learn to drive your motor then you will have a very very cool series 3 with no cutting of arches

anyone can restore a classic but it takes a real man to cut one up:D:D

I rekun it wud luk well gd lowered on chrome 22's wiv a scooby Spoiler on da roof painted in flip paint. My mate sez if you put a k&n filter and jap exhaust on it you'll keep up wiv focus st's no probs. Also if you put a big stereo in the extra weight helps it handle better cuz it sticks to the road.
