Hi ive got a 2a and the tyres are chunkies when i get to around 40/50 the lanie is all over the road n think it maybe the wrong tyres for road use any ideas on which are best for road use thx or if tyres not the cause any idea what is? thx :)

also check spring and chassis bushes. they can sometimes try to steer with the rear axle creating a 'wandering' feeling.

swivel pins, relay, track rod ends, shock absorbers, spring bushes, U bolts, wheel bearings, tyre pressures, crossplies or radials or mixed ? sloppy steering box ?

just a few things to check and eliminate

I think mine has many of these issues and it makes for a nice involving drive! THat said she still steers lovely and straight :) Steering box just been adjusted and new swivels / bushes etc. later this month should help. I'll be interested to see / feel what improvement these bring.

I find just over 40mph is a nice relaxed drive - over this you feel you're pressing on a bit and 50 is larging it!
I've often wondered if road tyres might feel better though, especially cornering in the wet.
