It's that time of year again where ye olde insurance is up for renewal, and after endless hours on hold, I finally got a quote which I was resonably happy with.

I asked the advisor " Is there any way we can shave a few quid off? "

(you've got to ask!!!)

And to my absolute disbelief his response was as follows...

" Well Mr Hudson, if you can prove that you are a member of a club which is Landrover orientated I.E off roading, green laning or just landrovers in general, we can knock you £100 off your annual premium "

A Hundred Quid!!! Has any body ever come across this before??

Mine asked me the Question, I had joined Pay& Play Site, Got told that will do, Got 20% off. I did not check my RP details this year, but it was still a good price.
Because I am Affiliated to a professional body I am have been offered discounted Insurance. Also my union offer a good deal.
These deals on the face of it look good, however any good broker can do better most of the time.

From my experience insuring any motor, and a little bit of info from somebody who used to work in car insurance sales, every insurance co has to 'be seen' to be covering all areas of the market i.e age range, male/female etc. so depending what day/week/month you call on, and what targets they need to hit you may well get a different quote. A few months ago Adrian Flux were by far the cheapest I could get for my 90, but then i've heard of people being quoted well over the odds, and that goes for other insurance co's too.

My advice to anyone would be to ring around a lot, and if you do get a cheap policy read the small print, and check that you have declared everything. Insurance companies and their under writers will do anything to wriggle out of paying out!

well - i just logged on to see if there are any preferred insurers for discos as the moment other than AF and thought I'd click on the CoOp ad at the bottom of the page while I was on-line to get a quote

go through all the details for my bog standard TD5 and get....

" Unacceptable due to car group"

why place a bloody advert on a Land Rover forum then - set of ****s !

Wonder if yours is classed as 'commercial' - encountered similar issue myself with a number of 'mainstream' insurers

Ended up with Lancaster last year
