I went along to watch some off roading at piccadilly woods last weekend and came accross this hybrid land rover 90, which the owner is thinking about selling. He said he would sell it without the dumper tyres and winch and rear locker.

It has a 200 tdi and a disco r380 gearbox.

How much do people reckon its worth, bearing in mind it has no tax or MOT? I'm quite interested in buying it as at the moment i only have an off road sj and i want something a bit higher and tougher.

I reckon it's worth bugger all cos it's a shed and without the tyres, winch and locker there's no point to it. If you want one just build your own and then at least you know what it's done.

The thing with something like that is its been built to be abused. But you dont know how badly its been treated.

Like khaos has said without the lockers, winches and tyres youve got nothing but a battered off roader. I use the term off roader because there isnt much left on it to defined it as a land rover. Its a try-back and tray-backs dont have much re sale value as there a very limited market. The thing that makes them is the accessories(as listed above). If the guy is taking them off, it will cost you alot more than the thing is worth to kit it out again.

It dosent even look like its been done particularly well either. It dosent look like there is any original panels left either, most of it is made from angled steel.

Is it road legal? v5? id be surprised if it is.

Personally i wouldnt buy it.

Just out of interest how much does he want for it?

5 euros and a bottle of gutrot wine ! :D

He is asking for a £1000, but it will come with a set of mud tyres. It does have a V5. He said £1250 with the lifted suspension.

If you want something cheap and capable then go for it. i wouldnt personally. but its your call.

To be honest if your used to zuks then you know how capable off road they are. Id stick to that.

If you want something bigger and a bit tougher that isnt gonna do milage then look for an early 200tdi for about 3K.
