Rear Diff Exploded!!

Just got home from work and felt a gudder but nothing major. Parked up and noticed I now have a nice hole in the rear diff and has dumped most of the fluid.
It is a 2004 TD4 and done around 60,000 gentle miles!

Any ideas? Has anyone had anything similar happen? Where do I go from here, I will obviously have to find a diff from a breakers.

Think you've probably been very unlucky. As you say, time to visit a breaker & also check out your VCU along with the rest of the drivetrain just in case though knackered VCU usually kills the ird.

your tyres are all the same make, with the best on the rear?
