Hi guys I have finally managed to get my freelander 1 booked in to the garage tomorrow morning, they are hoping to diagnose it correctly but the guy seems to think that it sounds like the driveshaft or cv joint, I don't want to get ripped off. The diagnosis is free so can anyone please give me a couple of rough idea's on what I should be expecting to pay if it is the driveshaft and how long it should be taking them as a guide. Also a rough idea as to what it should cost to get brakes changed if needed as well. Thanks:confused:

Don't know I'm afraid. I tend to do all my own repairs but if you're worried then get a couple of quotes & try to get some word of mouth info on decent local garages. One thing though, you do want a garage who'll fit good quality parts (which is worth paying a bit more for) especially brake pads & not cheap no-name rubbish.
Sorry I can't be of any real help.

Ok so I took the landrover to the garage and they have looked at it, they said my driveshaft etc looks fine but my front brake pads need replacing and also I have a broken engine mount, coould this be the cause of the clicking at all or do you think its extra's on top of the annoying clicking noise.

apparently its not a broken mount its just the bushes need replacing, could this do it?? sounds odd that this would be it as if it was why wouldnt it start as soon as i get in the car??
