Diesel filter for petrol

I am busy rebuilding a Series 3 and I have a diesel filter system with the pump on top of the filters available, it is from a Nissan diesel pick up, can one use this system on the 2.25 petrol? I am not keen on the little inline filters. Thanks!

The internals of the filter are all just a paper eliminate

Thanks Pobby I will install it, a blocked filter left me stranded next to the road once so hopefully with the two big filters, and regular servicing the chance of it happening again will be much less!

About the only reason that desiel filters are so much bigger is becouse of the way the fuel is stored.
Petrol is kept in stainless tanks and delt with much more care
Diesel is stored in steel tanks and is handled more like a byproduct becouse it is used for more industrial uses (tractors, trucks)
So you would find deisel has more crap in the bottom of the tank so needs more filtration

Then it will be ideal, we all now how much crap is in an old Landies tank!
