Brake Pads

I need front and rear brake pads for my 300Tdi which has solid discs fitted. Is there a particular brand thats recommended or one that I should steer clear of?

EBC greenstuff 6000.

Depends on your wallet, Green stuff pads apparently offered better braking but cost more. Personally I've stuck to Mintex pads, not had any issues with them so far and they don't cost too much.

I'm on a tight budget. The old girl is in for a MOT today and i've got a feeling me and my welder will become good friends in the next couple of weeks

I use EBC greenstuff on my Td5 very pleased with them and good price from paddocks.

Not used them myself yet, but also Mintex very popular with other Td5 owners...don't think you can go wrong with either

Join the club lol, I paid £20 ish for front & rear pads at my local motor factors. And yes the welder is definately a must have tool!

I have bought 12 quid pads from Paddocks and have used a couple of sets with absolutely no problems. I don't drive fast, but have hauled some serious weight around. I give them a thumbs up.

Added brake info - I have rebuilt the brake master cylinder and replaced all hoses with Goodridge teflon/stainless items. This was after having an accident because a hose burst on the front and the back brakes did not work, due to a hidden master cylinder defect (seal failure in master cylinder). I know of two other people who work with me and own Disco 1's who have also had the brake hoses burst. I have also replaced the brake balance valve as it was weeping fluid. Calipers and discs are original.
