broken key in lock

hi guys,
and yes i've done a search but nothing that relates to this is on there.
my door key has snapped off in either the front drivers door or the rear door ( can't remember which i locked last) i have a separate key for the ignition, so something like this has happened before i bought it. is it just a case of a locksmith coming out or is there something i could do? i only got one set of keys with it when i bought it.

Its a difficult one to answer on an open forum which is why you wont find many posts, are your doors unlocked? can you get in your car? if not you are effectivly asking how to break into a defender!

just swap the lock to one that you have a key for.. and dont use that door. or just buy a new lock..

hmm sorry i never thought of that all three doors are locked,ignition key is different.

Locksmith will sort it out easily enough. However new barrels are as cheap as chips - probably get a complete set of fleabay for a tenner.

Get a set of these.....

BROKEN KEY REMOVAL/EXTRACTOR TOOLS MECHANIC/LOCKSMITH 10 PIECE | eBay

remove the broken part of the key and then take the 2 halves down to yer local key cjutters and get em to cut you a new one.

Simples.
