Hi all, been the owner of TD4 since new in 2006, 2 months ago the aux fan belt shredded and snapped, towed back home with driveshaft disengaged and since then we've had a shaking gear stick, particularly when going uphill until speed has picked up. We've had it in the garage who tell us the driveshaft is connected properly. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted. Thanks.

Good question. Propshaft probably, disengaged the 4 wheel drive so it could be towed. Good to be female at this point!

just a thought but when i did the doughnut on ours and replaced the propshaft we also had a vibration took the prop back off and moved it round 1/2 a turn and solved the problem, somat to do with balance. probably get shot down in flames with the suggestion but it may well be worth a try,... ron.

Didnt Hippo do a thread on this when putting the prop back in? It has to go back on at the correct angle otherwise it could damage the expensive bits. I would repost this in the Freelander bit as Hippo still goes on there(even though hes lost the plot and bought a rangie. lol). Hes def the man to ask though. Im sure Ive seen a complete strip down of the prop with pics on here from him.
