Can anyone say if the steel box structure the rear 3 seats are on, in a CSW can be removed so that I end up with a flat floor from behind the front seats to the rear door like the 2 door 110 panel van.
I want to turn a 110 into a camper and need the rear room as in the panel van,but only looking for panel vans to do this, is limiting my choices of vehicles to obviously vans, but I thought if the seats and seat structure could be removed giving me a flat floor I could look at CSW also, plus I would have the windows in the rear doors saving me putting windows in the panels
thanks for any help

The boxes on either side come further forward on the van body I beleive. You can take the seats out to make it flat.

I built a frame in the back of my CSW that is removable. It then gets boarded out with an 8x4 sheet of 18mm ply. We used it when we went camping in Scotland as an emergency fallback if the tent blew away. It's 6'6" to the back of the seats and the space underneath is great for all those bits that you have to take but get in the way.

As I found out in the CSW you gain the footwell space over the van bodied vehicles

Thank you wermy, I have been trying to find the internal measurements for the CSW and van but 6foot6 would be long enough I would imagine the van being the same length.
Only thing that's putting me off the CSW is they have the alpine windows and most have a sunroof,my last 2 discoveries ****ed rain in,even after being sealed and drain plugged and all the other things, so I am leaning to the van as it has less holes in it, also more straight and streamline inside so to speak.
Those huge long wheel arches in the van are such a waste of space though

i've bought a van roof for my 110 so no alpine lights and no sunroof.

Beaten to it !

Just get the roof you want to give you the vehicle that you want. That's the beauty of a bolt together Defender.

You could also change the sides for the newer ones without the small windows at the back

I simply siliconed the roof up - I'll change the seal next year (for the third time) and manufacture some better brackets to close it tight.
